Malibu is located north of Santa Monica in the Northwest corner of Los Angeles County, California. It is a 21-mile (34 km) strip of Pacific coastline and is known for its warm, sandy beaches, including Surfrider Beach, Zuma Beach, Malibu State Beach and Topanga State Beach. Malibu has been a location or setting for many films and television programs. There are several shopping centers in the Malibu Civic Center area. It is about 30 minutes to the Santa Monica Airport, 45 minutes to the Los Angeles International Airport and one hour to downtown Los Angeles.
